Tenor Ben Hilgert recently completed an apprenticeship with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City. During his first season with the Kansas City Lyric Opera he performed the roles Sheriff Jones and James Doyle in the world premiere of John Brown as well as the Second Priest in Die Zauberflöte. His second season included the role of Gastone in La Traviata.
Other recent performances include Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte at Cedar Rapids Opera Theater, Ernesto in Don Pasquale with Kansas City Civic Opera, and Prince Charming in Massenet's Cendrillon at the Aspen Music Festival.
Ben has also performed with Central City Opera, Aspen Opera Theater Center, Tulsa Opera and Indianapolis Opera where he made his operatic stage debut as Bruhlmann in Werther in 2003.
